Trails

The Nebraska Horse Trails Committee, a committee of the Nebraska Horse Council formed in August of 2000 to unite, educate and represent the equestrian community for the promotion, improvement and development of Nebraska trails for all horse users.

Our Mission Statement is:

  • To conserve and promote enjoyment of horse trail use throughout Nebraska’s diverse and scenic landscape.
  • To create opportunities for the education and cooperation of horse trail users and land owners on the issues involving horses on the natural environment.
  • To preserve horse trails and natural resources in Nebraska for present and future generations to enjoy.

The Nebraska Horse Trails Committee is a very active in our state. We have a minimum of four meetings per year to discuss our horse trails and what our committee can do to help improve the existing trails or create new ones. These meetings are open to the public and we encourage all trail riders to attend. And we aren’t all talk and no action! We organize several trail clearings or work days per year, as a way of giving back to those who make horse trails possible.

If you are interested in participating with the Nebraska Horse Trails Committee, please contact us at for more information! New faces are always welcome and appreciated! Check this website for future meeting information and for trail clearing dates. Looking for trail rides? Visit Horse Events, courtesy of Horsetrailriders.com.
