The Nebraska Horse Council uses revenue from operating the Nebraska Horse Expo to offer grants to charitable/non-profit equine related organizations in Nebraska. Grants may be given as “seed money” to inspire new projects or for capital improvements or for the expansions of existing projects or services. A 50% “match” is required of all applying organizations.
In 2003, the Nebraska Horse Council board voted to set up a regular, formalized process to offer grants each year. A standard application process and specified eligibility criteria ensure applicants would know what types of projects are supported by the Nebraska Horse Council.
