Thanks to the Nebraska Horse Trails Committee and the Recreational Trails Program (RTP) a grant was secured for a new equestrian camp at Branched Oak Lake. The crew at Branched Oak have been busy this past winter putting in camp sites with electrical hook-ups, corrals, a handicapped ramp, bathrooms and water! The grant would not have been possible without funding from the NHTC. And our funds come from all of you who participate in our fundraising activities. So thank you! And thanks to Branched Oak for making this possible. Stop by Area 2 and check it out for yourself. And please, most importantly…. USE IT!

The Nebraska Horse Council’s Horse Expo has been a very exciting and well attended event for the past eleven years and you are a key to its success. While attendance continues to increase each year, it can be challenging to keep the venue fresh and entertaining while keeping in mind the costs of the event which continues to grow as well. Being that Expo is the primary component for supporting the programs of the Nebraska Horse Council, it is important that Expo not only be entertaining, but profitable, too. We would like our next Expo to come back bigger and better for both of us. Therefore, The Nebraska Horse Council has chosen not to produce a 2012 Nebraska Horse Expo and spend the next year working to recreate a new Expo for Nebraska horse enthusiasts. We hope you will pardon our pause in 2012 and rejoin us again for the 2013 Nebraska Horse Expo.
